DOROZIO, Fennell
Fennell Dorozio, 87, passed away on August 16 and went to be with his Saviour. Throughout his life, Fen was an avid fisherman, always quick with a joke or kind word, and active in Christian service. He started at his typesetting trade in Vancouver during the war eventually owning and operating his own business, Deluxe Typesetting. Born in Vancouver, he and Alice moved to Calgary in 1976 and migrated back to Langley, BC in 2007. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eva and now survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice; children: David (Donna), Donna, Kathleen (Brian), Matthew (Marilyn), Paul (Janice), Louise (Jerry), Ben (Shannon), Lisa (Ian); his stepsons: Ronald (Margaret), Gerald (Alison), Richard (Marilyn) and Randy (Joyce); his 32 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Fen had 8 brothers and sisters and is survived by sisters Margaret (Jimmy), and Olive Fera. He was a good steward of all the blessings bestowed upon him and extremely proud of all his family. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all those whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nicomekl Enhancement Society - Where Fen volunteered for the preservation and restoration of the Nicomekl River Watershed ([email protected]). Condolences can be posted on the Fennel Dorozio Memorial event Facebook page. A service to celebrate Fen's life will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 11 a.m. at North Langley Community Church, Langley BC.

I recall the first visit to their house in Calgary. It was Jonathan's wedding so there were a lot of people in the backyard. Fen went to get some wine and emerged from the house with the biggest decanter I'd ever seen. I knew this family was going to be fun from that day on....and it truly has been. His jokes always made me belly laugh. I miss him so much!!! I was lucky to have been his first granchild! Love you Fen!

Brian, Kathleen and family,
In our first years in Calgary, we spent many happy evenings with you and got to know your family including Fen and Alice. Fen's jovial, friendly nature made every event a happy one. He will be missed.

Alice & Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Fen was a wonderful man, always there with a listening ear or a helping hand and he had a way of putting a smile on your face with his great sense of humor. We have so many wonderful memories of times spent with Fen and Alice. He touched the hearts of everyone he came into contact with and he will be dearly missed. Love Herve & Dian Chartier

Alice and family - we know that you are going to miss Fen very much - he was such a "large man" - so kind and generous. We have many good memories of times together as families in Calgary. We will never forget Fen's friendship with dad - especially as dad's health failed - Fen was there most week days to take dad out for a short walk, drive or coffee. You will miss Fen - but you have many wonderful memories to treasure - and best of all, how wonderful to know that one day we will see him again - what a blessed hope we have. Our thoughts and prayers are with you - Love Herb & Marg, Maisie,Brad & Emily

Dear Alice and all my cousins,

I am going to miss Uncle Fen's wicked sense of humor! He could tell a joke like no one else. The world has lost a very bright light.

I had the privilage of meeting Fen when Alice and he first moved to Calgary,he was my manager in real estate but most important a good friend.I was always amazed how Fen could relate to every one regardless of there age, young or elderly and how he put every one at ease with his friendly nature. But most of all his commitment to his Lord,I am blessed for have known him, a true friend.
