Dear Mrs. Harriott and Family
I had the good fortune to be a college roommate of Art Sr. at Northern Illinois University and met Jan at that time as well. My wife, Marilyn, and I visited Art Sr. and his family while he was stationed at the Air Force Academy. Our two children had a good time with Artie and Angie while we visited with Art and Jan. It was just the other day that we came across a picture from that visit and, as a result, made the attempt to catch up with them. It was in that process that we came across the obituary of Art II.
In reading that notice, it became very evident what a truly fine man he was. You and Art have a wonderful family which your are certainly proud of. His service to our country and assistance to those with whom he came into contact was remarkable. Your family has suffered a great loss and we extend our deepest sympathies. Please also extend our sympathies to Art and Jan. We are sorry we haven't remained in contact with them and we will continue to try to connect.

It was a great pleasure working with and getting to know Mr. Harriot during his recovery time. Although his words were limited, he made it very apparent that he loved the Lord and his family. It was these two things that motivated him most to continue pushing through his therapy to improve. He was an inspiration to us all here at Cimarron Place and will always be remembered. While I am deeply saddened by his passing, it brings me great joy KNOWING that he is completely healed, enjoying his new life in Heaven. My sincerest sympathies to the Harriot family. Praying that the love of God surrounds you during this time.

I was friends with Art, when he was here in oklahoma. We had alot of great times together. Seeing that he passed, almost took my breath away. I just can't believe it. He was an amazing guy. He was very committed to his family, and his daughter (only had 1 at the time). He tried teaching me how to dive once. He was a guy that you wanted as a friend. He stood by his friends. This world lost a good one. May you be in peace with God. May God bless all of you, in this time of pain. He is truly missed.

I met Art on the Global barge “pipiliner5” in 1997. We instantly became friends. That group of divers was pretty rowdy , we had a lot of fun. Art was in love with and proud of his wife and children. I will miss him. Vaya con dios Art.
