Donna Stahl Obituary

Donna N. Stahl
age 83 of Massillon, died on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 at Affinity Medical Center. She was born on March 22, 1927 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Stanton R. and Thelma (Friend) Stahl. She graduated from Washington High School in 1945, she then went on to Purdue University earning her Bachelor of Science degree. She worked as a dietician at Ohio Wesleyan University and The Ohio State University. She retired from the Ohio State Department of Education as dietician, supervising the school lunch program throughout the state. She was a 25 year member of First United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Massillon Women's Club, Quota International, Friend Family Association of America, Friendsville, Md. Donna was a member of the D.A.R., where she was a Past Regent (1996-2001) and also served that organization in many other capacities. She was a member of First Families of Ohio. She also volunteered at the former Massillon City Hospital. She was an avid genealogist, traveling to many states and to England while doing her research. She traveled extensively enjoying many other countries and cultures.
Surviving are several cousins, including her caregivers, Julia (Fromholtz) Grapatin and her husband, Ron of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., John (Dianne) Bullach of Arlington, Va. and John (Beth) Fromholtz of North Canton.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Donna N. Stahl will take place on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. William R. Harvey officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11 a.m. at the church and again following the service. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, 301 Lincoln Way East, Massillon, OH 44646

Donna will be missed in many ways. She was dedicated to everything she did. I will miss our talks on the phone and our visits with her. She was a true family person. She loved all her family and was willing to help if they needed it. We Will Miss You Donna! Love Larry and Shirley Bowman.
