James H. Miller
James H. Miller, age 86, died October 16, 2006. He was born in Massillon, OH on February 1, 1920. James graduated from Purdue in January 1942 and was co-captain of the 1941 football team. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy Air Corps where he was a flight instructor. Jim was the head football coach at Monticello High School in Indiana, Niagara University, University of Detroit, Boston College and was an assistant football coach with Wabash College and Purdue University. Jim was an assistant to George Steinbrenner (New York Yankees) at American Ship Building (Cleveland-Tampa). He was a member of the National Coaches Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria E. Miller and a daughter, Carrie Ann Miller. He is survived by three sons, Douglas Miller of NH, Jeffrey and Timothy Miller both of FL; one sister, Marilyn Wike of FL; one brother, Robert (Virginia) Miller of FL; and two grandchildren, Virginia and James. Services and interment were in Massillon, OH on Saturday. Condolences can be sent thru www.paquelet.com to the family.
