BARBARA BOLLINGER Obituary

Barbara (Newberry) Bollinger

On April 6, 2021 Barbara (Newberry) Bollinger joined her heavenly family while encircled by her husband, daughters, and son-in-law. She unexpectedly passed away while vacationing with friends in Arizona. Barbara was born November 4, 1947 in Canton, Ohio, to Robert and Jo Ann (Bruder) Newberry. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965 where she met her loving husband of 52 years, Ronald Bollinger. Barbara began her career as an administrative assistant. She worked in credentialing for Doctor's Hospital and became a Certifies Personal Secretary (CPS). She was promoted to Executive Secretary to the CEO. Barbara continued her career at Mercy Medical Center where she served as the Executive Secretary Administrative Manager. She retired on April 1, 2011. She was also a strong and nurturing mother to her two daughters and a supportive spouse to her husband. Barbara had a very kind spirit and had a passion for caring for family and friends. Barbara enjoyed exercising, sewing, journaling, and writing children's books. She reveled in relaxing motorcycle rides and traveling but most of all she delighted in being with family and friends. Barbara was the happiest hosting a gathering for everyone she loved.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Ronald; brother, Robert Newberry (Dolly), sister-in-law, Sharon Lembright (Robert) Bortz; daughters, Karen (James) Fosbrink and Terri Bollinger; grandchildren: Brent, Patts, and Nicholas Fosbrink; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We will never forget Barbara's passion for life, her kindness, and her extraordinary ability to listen.

Calling hours will be held on May 8, 2021 from 1 pm to 5 pm at Arnold's Funeral Home in Hartville, Ohio. A private ceremony for immediate family will be held on Monday May 10, 2021 at Mount Peace Cemetery in Hartville Ohio. Please join us on Saturday to honor Barbara as a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. In leu of flowers, please make all donations to the Youth Foundation at St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church on Fulton Road in Canton Ohio.

It is always a crushing blow to lose someone with whom you have been friends for so many years. Barb and Ron have been our friends since high school. (I was in cub scouts with Ron even). Our sadness is softened by the knowledge that Barb is now walking the streets of gold, sitting at the feet of her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. It's a place of endless joy with no sorrow or tears. Our sadness is tempered with the knowledge that the four of us will one day have a reunion that we can only imagine. Heartfelt thoughts go out to all the family.
