Donald A. Grady

FALMOUTH - Donald A. Grady, 88, of Falmouth died at home on Sept. 2, 2007. He was the husband of the late Eileen L. (Gaynor) Grady for 63 years.

Donald was born and raised in Bridgewater. During World War II, he served as a medic in the Army and was awarded the medal of good conduct. After he was honorably discharged in 1945, he settled in Falmouth and West Falmouth, where he and Eileen raised six children (including two sets of twins).

For 42 years, he was a business manager for an oil company in Falmouth until his retirement 20 years ago. He was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Church.

Donald devoted his life to his family and will be sorrowfully missed.

He is survived by his children, Jacqueline Generous of Boston and Naples, Fla., Joanne Grady-Savard of Duxbury, Suzanne Rolerson of Isleboro, Maine, Jeffrey D. Grady of Whitman, and Jean L. Olenick of East Falmouth. He was the brother of Phyllis Hurley of South Yarmouth and Katherine Cloudman of Bridgewater; loving grandfather of Amon, Nyah and Elin Rolerson; Michael and Matthew Savard; and Shannon Olenick; loving great-grandfather of Marcus Rolerson; and loving cousin of Michael Grady of Falmouth. Also surviving are several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is the father of the late Robert G. O'Grady, and brother of the late Raymond Grady of Florida.

Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main St., Falmouth Center. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Millfield Street, Woods Hole, followed by burial at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
