YARMOUTHPORT - Jane (Welsh) Goodall, 72, of Yarmouthport, formerly of Concord and Acton, died on Aug. 24, 2007.

She was the beloved wife of 50 years to Arthur Goodall.

A second-grade teacher for 20 years in the Acton public schools, Jane was also an accomplished pianist, who included music in all aspects of her life.

She enjoyed gardening at home inspired by her involvement with the Acton Garden Club and the Heritage Plantation in Sandwich.

Jane also had a love for world travel with her husband, family and friends.

According to her daughters, she was happiest sharing her life and time with her family and many dear friends.

She was the devoted mother of Susan Morgan and her husband, Richard, of Hamilton, and Sheryl Goodall of Wrentham; proud grandmother of Colby and Nathaniel Morgan.

Her memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. at St. David's Episcopal Church, 205 Old Main St., South Yarmouth. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, a donation for brain tumor research in her memory may be made to the Arthur and Jane Goodall Family Charitable Fund, c/o Advisor Charitable Gift Fund, P.O. Box 55158, Boston, MA 02205-5158.

Jane was an extrodinary lady. Im doing a class report on her. I have learned a lot from her. I hope Im not the only one who respects her as a scientist as well as a wonderful person in general

I was so sorry to learn of the death of your beloved wife, Jane.

I feel so fortunate to have known both of you, and know my daughter, Pam, was also fortunate to have had both of you as teachers.
