QUINCY - John J. Dixon, of Quincy, died unexpectedly, at the age of 51, on Oct. 3, 2007.

He was the dear son of Priscilla (Snowden) Dixon of Quincy and the late Robert E. Dixon; devoted brother of Robert E. Dixon Jr. of Quincy, Priscilla Jordan-Kennedy and her husband Brian of Holbrook, Judy Desmond and Joseph Dixon, both of Cape Cod, Jennifer Dixon of Colorado, the late Paul Dixon, Lee Dixon, Ellen Dixon and George Dixon. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Born, raised and educated in Quincy, Mr. Dixon was a landscape contractor. He worked at his family's restaurant in Yarmouthport, ''Dixon's Fish and Chips.” He also use to work with his father, Robert Dixon, for Dixon Tow Boats, towing barges in Boston Harbor. He was also a very talented artist, who was full of life.

Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 S. Franklin St., (Route 37), Holbrook, until 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 a.m., in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial is in Union Cemetery, Holbrook.
