Mr. McCarthy,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USN in the Pacific fighting the Japanese during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I spent many a pleasant day with Joe at Seabrook Beach N.H. in the 70's . He and his wonderful Mary were two of the most sincere people I have been fortunate to know in my lifetime.
