William Shea Obituary

WEST YARMOUTH - William Higgins Shea Jr., 65, died unexpectedly, at his home on Nov. 28.

Born and raised in Springfield, he was a graduate of Cathedral High School, class of 1958, and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross in 1962. He worked for Mass. General Hospital in Cardiac Research for over 25 years, before moving to the Cape 13 years ago.

During his time on the Cape, he has worked as an imaging specialist for the Heart Center in Hyannis, and was an avid golfer. He is son of the late William H. Shea Sr. and Mary (Donovan) Shea. He leaves a sister, Barbara S. Walsh and her husband Jim of Brewster; and two nephews, Brendan and Timothy Walsh.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Holy Cross Church, Plumtree Road, Springfield, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Michaels Cemetery, Springfield.

Memorials may be made in Bill's memory to the American Diabetes Association, Boston Office, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210, or The College of the Holy Cross, Attn: Development Office, 1 College St., Worcester, MA 01610.

We greatly miss Bill with his soft persona tremendous experience and resource in his work. I have known Bill from the early 70s @ the MGH ..and ask him to call me if he ever moved to cape so he did in the early nineties and been loyal to the Heart Center ever since
