Stephen Bibbo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 12, 2008.
WEST FALMOUTH —

Stephen Michael Bibbo, age 51, of West Falmouth, passed away at home, on Saturday, March 8, 2008, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston in 1956, Stephen grew up in Newton. He graduated from Wentworth Technical Institute in 1976.

Stephen worked for a brief period of time for C.H. Newton Builders Inc., then married his wife Susan (Smith) and worked in the family business, Palmer Avenue Market, until around 1987. He then started his own fine woodworking business, and his magnificent craftsmanship is found in many homes in the Falmouth area, including his own, several of which have been on the West Falmouth winter house tour.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, daughters, Jessica and Stephanie, and his parents, Janet and Albert Bibbo of Pocasset, as well as his three sisters, Christine, Mary Ann and Eleana. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Kenneth C. Smith, and brothers-in-law, Bradley K. Smith and Matthew J. Hamill.

Not only has he left innumerable family and friends who will miss him dearly, he has left a lasting legacy of finely-skilled artistry in the homes and hearts of many of our town's residents.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at St. Barnabas Memorial Church, 91 Main St., Falmouth. Burial and reception will follow on the church grounds.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Barnabas Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 203 Falmouth, MA 02541.

We extend our heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Sue, while we did not have the pleasure of meeting your husband, we were touched deeply by his commitment to life in the face of his long struggle with cancer, together with the sense of humor and joy in being together that you both embraced each day. May it be of some comfort to you and your family to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers going forward.
