Robert Wilson Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Windsor Wilson, Jr. CHARLESTON - Robert "Bobby" Windsor Wilson, Jr. left this life and joined his Father in heaven on June 12, 2015. Born September 20, 1947, in Tacoma, Washington, he was the beloved husband of Karen VanDenDriessche Wilson and son of Robert Windsor Wilson, Sr. and the late Marjorie Lambert Wilson of Woodruff, SC. Robert was the highly respected owner of Fine Art Reproductions, a devoted mentor to SC Lowcountry artists, an accomplished portrait artist, and a member of the Portrait Society of America. He served in Iceland during his Naval career and retired as a supervisor from the Charleston Naval Shipyard. In addition to his wife and father, Robert is survived by his sister, Lynn Wilson Tucker of Woodruff, SC; a dear sister-in-law, Wendy VanDenDriessche of Jackson, MI; and a large, loving family of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. A special thanks to Sherry McGrew of Springfield, OH and Vonda Skelton of Simpsonville, SC-two cousins who lovingly cared for Bobby during his final days. Thank you to the SC Lowcountry artists for all your love, support, and prayers. Your collective talent and compassion created an artistic bond of friendship that held a special place in Robert's heart. Robert's nephew, Raymond Savicke, summed up Robert's life beautifully: "They say that when an artist dies, God lets them paint the sky." Perhaps the next breathtaking sky you see will be Robert's. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pattison's Academy Arts Program, 2014 Bees Ferry Rd, Charleston, SC 29414, www.PattisonsAcademy.org. A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held in SC at a later date. Visit our guestbook at www.legacy.com/obituaries/ charleston

I am very sorry for your loss. I met the artist Sr. at the American Legion hall in Duncan Park. I feel that he is still being creative in heaven.
