Patricia "Pat" Ann Chitkowski

Patricia "Pat" Ann Chitkowski, 82, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026.

Born on June 19, 1943, in Chicago, IL, to Bernard and Anne McElmeel, Pat grew up in a loving home with her sister, Bernadine "Bunny." While in high school, she worked at Moser's Bakery in Northlake, where she met the love of her life, Richard Chitkowski. They married on September 1, 1962, beginning a beautiful 63-year journey together.

As a devoted Navy wife, Pat joined Richard on base in Virginia Beach, beginning a seven-year adventure that took them to York Beach, ME, and Charleston, SC. Following Richard's honorable discharge, the family returned to Chicago before moving to Dallas and finally settling in Phoenix in 1976.

Pat was a dedicated working mother who built a successful career in the media industry, starting at Ronco and retiring after many years with Ellison Media in Scottsdale at age 79. She deeply valued the many professional relationships she developed throughout her decades in the field.

Pat's greatest passions were her family, her friends, and the art of hosting. She was a master in the kitchen and a meticulous holiday decorator, ensuring her home was always a welcoming sanctuary. Above all, Pat was a loving wife who shared a lifetime of devotion with Richard, a truly nurturing mother, and an excellent grandmother who held a uniquely close and special bond with her grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving spouse, Richard; her children, Garry (Karin) Chitkowski and Nadine (Brian) Foley; her grandchildren, Patrick (Lindsay) Foley, Casey Foley, and Jacqueline Foley; and her great-grandchildren, Kira and Jack.

She is also survived by her sister, Bunny (Jim) Smith; her nephew, Mike Barzano (and daughter Gianna); and her niece, Lisa Barzano (Hanns Alvarez). Pat also leaves behind a wide circle of friends and colleagues who were like family.

In honor of Pat's life, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
