David Swaney Obituary
He is survived by his children, Brian David Swaney, Alexandra Hart Swaney, Gabrielle Christian Swaney and his grandchildren, Hart Benjamin Swaney, and Cole Steven Swaney, whom he loved dearly.
His surviving family includes his sisters, Tammy Swaney Byrnes of Huntersville, NC, Leslie Swaney Smith of Rock Hill, SC, Kathy Lee Swaney of Rock Hill, SC, Rita Guiney, of Charlotte, NC, MaryAnn Herring, of Lincolnton, NC and brother, John Shipes III, of Norcross, GA.
David was predeceased by his brother, Donald Ray Swaney.
The family's deepest thanks go to the caregivers at Peaceful Home Care, LLC.
Kelly Fisher, Owner, Tammy Bingham and Tammy Parrish.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 , in the Belk Chapel at Queens University of Charlotte. Family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to Make a Wish Foundation, 1131 Harding Place, Charlotte, NC 28204.

Rarely if ever , later in life do we find a friend with common interests who share the outlook of
" A passion for persevering to Success ". David many times arriving at my shop ,he gave me advice
and encouragement to proceed. Move forward don't look back . He will always will be remember here .

Well this man is one I truly admired he was one that no matter what somehow managed to always find a way to bring out the best in anyone and make them strive to be better and achieve more. If you ever had the pleasure of working with him or for him. I know that I loved him like as if he was my own father and he always kept me straight well me and Brian. I just know that David.
(aka) papa swaney is one of the greatest man ive ever know and someone like David will be missed.more than most. And I can't wait till we meet again..and he sees me driving up in the redneck wagon.

David was a wonderful man. He never treated you like you were just an employee he treated you with respect and you became part of family. He was a very wise man who never gave up on anything. He taught you to reach for the stars. David rest in peace and fly high my friend.

I met David shortly after starting to work for his company. I did not have the pleasure of working there while he was still in the building but the few times I did see him around he was always smiling and very kind. The length of time I knew him didnt change the fact that I felt part of his CFI Family. You will truly be missed David. Rest in Paradise. You will forever be the Godfather of flooring as Brian said.

David was a good man, good American, and great leader, I am very thankful to have met him and worked for him. He had a great sense of humor and cared for his employees like we were family. He had a kind spirit, never met a stranger, and was always willing to help. Thoughts and prayers for the Swaney family. David, you fought the good fight. You will be greatly missed. David was so much more than a boss man, he was a mentor to so many... myself included. He was like a father figure, his heart was true to those he loved. Papa Swaney, as my children called him, will be deeply missed by the Howle family. His smile was contagious and people loved to be around him. What he accomplished as a businessman was nothing short of remarkable. We often talked about his business and he always ended by talking about the wonderful people he worked with. I mark myself fortunate to call him a close friend. He will be missed by many.
