Gone Fishing! Beloved husband of the late Mary K. Chaps (nee Malone); loving father of Robert E. (Eileen Hayes), Mary Kate Chaps, Albert M. "Boo" (Marilyn), Brian J. (Kathleen), Joanie G. (Tom) Callaghan and the late Thomas J.; proud grandfather, Papa of Matt, Colleen, Connor, Maura, Lizzie, Julie, Brian, Caroline Chaps, Katie, Mary Claire, Annie, Maggie Callaghan; dearest son of the late Joseph and Mary Chaps; fond brother of the late Benedict (Margaret) and the late Judy (Bill) Barnhart; proud graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and proud member of Theta Xi Fraternity. So sorry to hear about your dad/Papa. He had a good, long life, blessed with pretty good health the whole way, raised a bunch of good kids, and lived to see his grandkids grow up! Can't ask for much more than that out of life. My condolences to you all. I-L-L Big Al!

Boo, Mary Kate, Brian, Joanie and Family,
On behalf of my wife, Cindy and my son Andy, and myself, deepest sympathies on the loss of the family patriarch. Mr. Chaps had a great sense of humor, loved life, and lived well. Nearly 94 years old is quite an achievement as all the children and grandchildren can attest. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with your family.
