I worked as a colleague with Diane Plotkin for 20 years at North River Mental Health Center. Diane exemplified adherence to the highest level of commitment to clinical social work and its fundamental principles of acceptance, empathy, and compassion. Diane typified her internalized qualities of kindness and humility, and she asserted her beliefs with wisdom and sensitivity. Furthermore Diane demonstrated respect and appreciation for the strengths and values characterizing the individual person. Diane emerged as an innovator for representing the significance of valuing public mental health services in Chicago. I extend my condolences to her family and friends. May her memory serve as a blessing.

So sorry to hear of Diane's passing. I worked with her for about 2 decades at the North River Mental Health Center and I considered her a work friend. We worked closely on numerous cases and would provide "peer consultation" for each other. Also we would often go out on lunches in small groups that were always a pleasant break. As the Coordinator of Intake I knew that any case she picked up would get professional and compassionate treatment at the highest level. Wanted family and friends to know that she literally impacted around a thousand clients often in profound and always positive ways. I don't believe there are many people that can say that. Again so very sorry for your loss.

My condolences to Diane's family and friends.
We worked in the city mental health centers at the same time. I remember her as a very committed professional and caring therapist.
With sympathy.
