I only met Nick once (when he came to pick up his medical records) but from that first day he always stuck in my head, he had such a great sence of humor, and I could tell he was a good man. A couple weeks after I met him he called my job to speak to me and thank me for being so helpfull and kind. The world needs more people like him around... I wish I could have met him years ago. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Beth and Ann are like sisters to Krysten and I. Our parents dated for many years. My childhood was full of adventures at Nick's house on the River with my mom and his girls. We had many a trip in his wonderful station wagon. Beth, Anne and I would sing songs and play car games. Nick was a wonderful father and cared for my sister and I as if we were his own. Krsyten and I are thankful that he and his family were in our lives. His memory will forever live in our hearts. Beht and Anne, we love you very much. We will be family forever.

Nick was like the only Uncle I ever had. Not by blood but to me he was family. He always had time to go thrifting with my mom and bring back banana bread. He was awesome, always laughing despite the pain. I heard a lot about his daughters, I could sit here and write a lot of it down but i would feel foolish. This is about Nick lol. Anyways heres to you Uncle Nikki!

Nick was such a wonderful man. He was always talking about his latest treasure hunt and findings. Nick was very family oritented. He always had pictures to show off of his daughters and his grandson. He told me a month ago, that he knew things were heading the other direction and he just wanted to hold his new granddaughter. I miss his smiling face and the encouragement and hope that he always gave me regarding my mom and her cancer. I will miss him terribly.

Much of my teaching career in West Aurora was while Nick was a second grade teacher at Freeman School. No teacher ever cared more for his pupils than Nick did. If a life is truly measured by its deeds rather than its duration, Nick lived a full life in his 55 years. All who knew him will miss him.

Mr. Sawka was my third grade teacher. He was kind and taught well. He was always smiling, always there to help and years after I left the school any time I saw him he remembered me and my family and always asked how we were doing. He was my favorite teacher in elementary scholl and I will never forget him.

Nicky was my moms best friend. He helped her out after my dad died. And after my mom passed away he was there for me.
Nicky always talked about his daughters and always had a nice update for me about them. Nicky would always make the time to chat with anyone that came across his path. he had a ring made in memory of my parents. It was the nicest thing that anyone had done.
Our love and prayers are with your family. And I will always cherish Nickys wonderful stories.

Mr. Sawka is the teacher I will remember most. I was blessed to have him early in his career; he was my second grade teacher at Freeman. My world revolved around Mr. Sawka - to me he was the greatest! My 2nd grade class threw him a surprise wedding shower - I still have the pictures of that. I am proud that Mr. Sawka remembered me as well . . . because twenty years later, Mr. Sawka was at MY wedding! I will miss him dearly, but am encouraged by knowing he impacted so many young lives in such a positive manner.

I will always remember what a great guy Nick was. I worked at Freeman School during the early 80's. He was also the teacher of one of my daughters.
I know he will be dearly missed, and my thoughts are with the family.

Beth and Ann, I worked with your dad for many years and you two girls were the center of his universe. Everything was Beth this and Ann that. No dad loved his kids more. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
