Happy Mother's Day Mom

I wish that it was one year ago.

I want to go back and instead of staying home watching tv I wish I could go to my parents house. Have some dinner, go to the stable with my Mom and watch her teach my son how to ride her horse Vicky. I would go out for ice cream or pie afterwards. Then I would go back to the home I grew up in and listen to the click click of my Mother's knitting needles. I would ask her all the questions I have ever wanted to but never found the time to. I would tell her that I love her. That I appreciate her and that I could never be who I am without her guidance and love. I would give her a big hug - the kind that makes you feel like never letting go. I wish I could go back. I wish I could tell her to stay home next Saturday night.

Last year on June 15th, 2002 my Mother was killed by a drunk driver coming home from the stables. She died instantly. I wish I could go back. I want to go back and tell her "I Love You Mom". I wish I could go back to one year ago and give my Mom a hug and I promise I would never let go.

Hello Mom

It has been a long court trial and now the drunken driver will be serving 4 years for DUI and 4 years for reckless homicide congruently.

We miss you,

Love

OK Mom here goes

I have been writing this and rewriting it in my head and the only thing I know for sure is that I miss you. Everyday I wake up hoping the pain and the void I feel will be less but it is not. It only gets worse. Each day I want to call you and tell you something.

Remember when we used to watch West Wing together on the phone. Or if one missed something we would call to get caught up. I can’t watch West Wing without wanting to pick up the phone at least once.

I miss making you laugh Mom. I miss telling you John stories. I miss making shrimp scampi for you. I miss the click click of your knitting needles. You were my best friend Mom.

John misses you so. I miss you

We all miss you.

Mom I love you and I miss you so much. We all do.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Mom I miss you. It has been 2 months but it seems like a lifetime and it seems like just yesterday. I hope you are at peace and I hope you know how empty we feel without you.

Dear Macaluso Family,

I was a friend of Johann years ago when we were raising our family in Oak Park. Whether at the Jewel or on the street, she always had time for a friendly chat. I would often see Johann when Liz joined the West Suburban Track Club where my daughters Jill, Lisa and Amy also ran. From all of us, our sincere condolences.

Johann Macaluso, my Mother-

Mom I will miss you so much. I don't understand why God chose this time for you to go to heaven. You were loved, respected, admired and will be dearly missed by all. I know you are looking down on all of us and watching us closely. If I know you, and I think I do, you finally got your wish- you are now able to ride horses and knit at the same time. I love you and I miss you. Tell God he could have waited a little longer for his aftgan.

Your Daughter Deanna

PS John really misses you Mom-Watch over him please and help him and help me to help him, through this difficult time.
