Lucille Rike



Lucille Rike, 93, beloved daughter, mother, grand-mother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2020. She was born to parents, Ethel and Emil Kirch, on Feb. 8, 1927, in Gillette, Wyo. She graduated from high school at a young age and came to Pueblo at the age of 17 in the fall of 1944. Lucille knew she always wanted to be a nurse. She entered the Cadet Nurse Corps at the Minnequa School of Nursing at Corwin Hospital. She graduated in 1947 as a registered nurse. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Rike; brother, Elden Kirch; and granddaughter, Kris-ten LeBlanc. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Rike LeBlanc; grandson, Eric LeBlanc; and great-grandchildren, Alex and Morgan LeBlanc. Her family was blessed by her unconditional love and devotion. Lucille loved her profession as a nurse. She also enjoyed playing the piano, sewing, gardening and her family. She always made the holidays special for her family and friends. Lucille will be missed greatly by her family. Her family would like to thank Dr. Cheryl Cavalli and Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their support in caring for Lucille. Cremation, Mont-gomery & Steward Crematorium with no formal services. Memorials may be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice. Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com.
