Mrs Ellerhorst was my Second Grade teacher at Visatation, the Second year the new Chuch had been opened. I was in her classroom when we heard the news about J.F.K. Mrs Ellerhorst was a very special person who made you feel good about yourself. My thoughts and prayers are with Gary and Mrs. Ellerhorst's entire family.

On behalf of the Wienkamp family, I would like to express our condolences to the Ellerhorst family. Brian and Pete I am so sorry for your loss. She taught us science in school and in the neighborhood. I remember when the Ohio river froze and the neighborhood children piled in her car to walk on the river. Of course not me! Too scared. She never missed a teachable moment. Many of us brought fossils to her for identification. I appreciated her fostering of faith in her students, too. She mentored the guitar/vocal group in the seventh grade as a way to serve the Lord. I am thankful for that opportunity, as I am still playing at mass. She was an encouraging teacher, role model and a faithful servant. May you find comfort in your memories.
May God Bless the Ellerhorst Family.

For three years I had the privilege of sharing a classroom with Marian. It was during a time when she wanted to spend more time with her mother who was ill. She became a good friend and mentor to me. Marian was a wonderful teacher who brought many hands on activities to the classroom. She started the nature trail behind Visitation School and began the tradition of taking 7th graders on a three day outdoor field trip. She cared so much about her students, gently nudging them to do their best. I feel so blessed to have had Marian as a role model in my own teaching career. Rest in peace dear friend. With love and sympathy to all her family. Pat Hilvert Schoch
