MYERS

Dr. M.H. Scott Myers, age 80, of Cincinnati, founder of IKRON Corporation, one of southwest Ohio's earliest vocational rehabilitation centers, and former faculty in the University of Cincinnati's Rehabilitation Counseling program, died Saturday, December 10, 2011. She is survived by her son, Barry Scott Myers of Cincinnati, daughter and son-in-law Dr. Melanie F. Myers and Joel Domoe of Cincinnati, and daughter Julie Ann Myers of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren Nicole and Jordan Domoe, and Ariel Luke. Dr. Scotty, as she was affectionately known at IKRON, was born in Forty Fort, PA and received her Ed.D. from the University of Cincinnati. She was one of the first nationally certified rehabilitation counselors in the United States. Dr. Scotty served as IKRON's Executive Director until 1996 and worked closely with hundreds of clients in her roles as clinician, counselor and director. She will be remembered as an instrumental force in the development of psychosocial and rehabilitative employment-focused services in the Midwest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Dr. Scotty Myers IKRON Expansion Fund, c/o IKRON Corporation, 2347 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 pm, December 17 at First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati.

Scotty was quite a lady, always calm and comforting. She made everyone around her feel important and welcomed.

My prayers and blessing go out to the family. Scotty always believe in the good of people and was a hard working person. Her work in the area of rehab will live on foreve.

Scotty is remembered with love and respect. She was a wonderful woman who has positively impacted on countless lives of developmentally disabled persons she assisted and Rehabilitation Counselors she educated. I am grateful to both Scotty and Julian for their mentorship ,ethics/values,and most of all friendship. My condolence Steve Heilman
