Mrs. Sherman was my principal at St. Susanna, and always had a kind, encouraging word for us students. My thoughts are with her family at this difficult time.

We shared many a laugh and discussion (mostly about our Reds)!! Helen was also the best "educator" I have known and not just in the academic arena. She taught her kids about "life. An angel has winged it's way to heaven.

Aunt Helen, our family parties will not be the same without you - you were always ready to dance, laugh and have a great time! You were the one who encouraged me to go back to school in my 40's, and you told me how proud you were when I got my law degree. There were so many times you stepped in for Mom after she died. I remember you always said that Trudy would want you to be there for us. I love you and will miss you.

Dear Aunt Helen,

How blessed I was to have you in my life and as my godmother, a title you held with great love and importance. You always made sure I knew how much you loved me, how much you enjoyed being my godmother and remembering all the little things that made a difference to me.
Thank you for.....
...sharing long ago stories of my parents. You took such great delight in telling them and sharing how much you loved them.
....for always encouraging me to be bold, take a new job, explore new adventures.
....for coming out West to visit me several years ago which I know wasn't an easy trip for you. You always said you had to come visit me on the Central Coast because you encouraged me to take the job that got me out here!
...for including me in Christmas Eves at your beautiful home when I lived in Ohio - when I was without my parents. I had a second mom in you.
....for being my seating companion so many times at Good Shepherd during Mass.
...for being so proud to introduce me to your friends as your god-daughter
....for loving my dog
....for always wanting to know how I am, for calling out of the blue to just say hi and send love
....for being the perfect picture of a godmother
....for being the role model for the kind of life I'd want to lead when I might reach your age
...for simply always being there, full of love and support.

Give my love to my loved ones in heaven that I know you are with.

I love you,

Your mom was an awesome principal! Always a smile and even after they graduated St. Susanna, she always asked about them. My favorite principal ever. She was a treasure.

Todd, Sue and Ben. Be assured of our deepest sympathy and take comfort in knowing that Helen is safe at home with her God. She lived every day preparing for this as a faithful servant to all of us. Her kindness to Fred in particular was heartfelt and the encouragement she gave me was so appreciated. We will miss her and look forward to reuniting with her someday. Until then.. we will work every day to keep her legacy alive and try to measure up to her very example. We will miss her in particlar in May at Sarasota Sands but we can be sure that she will be there in spirit. We love you all. Fred and Marcia

I'm shocked, but your spirit of kindness, care for others, fun, and enjoyment of life to the fullest remain. You are in a better place with the Lord.

The peace and love of God be with you.

I cannot believe it. I am your mother's Wednesday bridge partner. While I am in Florida now and cannot say good-bye to Helen, she is in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss her so much. She always had a smile and a funny joke. She will be a beautiful angel.
