Robert Foegle Obituary

Robert "Red" Foegle

Cleves - Beloved husband of the late Kathryn E. Foegle (Nee Nunneker) for 47 years. Loving father of Colleen (Bruce Allen M.D.) Foegle, Kathleen Foegle, Stephen Foegle and Amy Elliott. Devoted grandfather of Robert (Stephanie) Ferneding and great grandfather of Chloe and Dakota. Dear brother of Mary Lou (Vern) Kidwell, Irene Bauder and the late Thomas (Louise) McCool. Also survived by his many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Although he was a man of few words, Red was a wise and witty counselor to his four children. Never idle, he was known as hard working and excelled at sports throughout his life. In his youth, Red was a standout in football, baseball, boxing and track and field. In his later years, he enjoyed golf, tennis and fishing. What he loved most of all was spending time with family. Red was always ready to lend his expertise and a helping hand for myriad repair and building projects to assist family and friends alike. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force (Korean War). Red remained a loyal and active member of Pipefitters Local Union 392 throughout his career and retirement. Passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 88 years of age. Services at convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, PO Box 5202, Cincinnati, OH 45201 or to the Ryan Custer Recovery Care Fund, www.gofundme.com/ryancuster33recovery. To my fishing buddy! Well, you got the two-fer fish in this life and will get the three-fer in the next life. Skip the kelp-fish except for a laugh!

Red taught welding at the Pipefitters' school and was the best. He would literally take your hand while you were 'trying to weld' and guide you to the correct procedure. I don't think I would ever learned without his guidance. Red's work ethic was also an inspiration to all of his students, including myself. He even came out of retirement to instruct laid off Pipefitters so they could be employed more and it worked for a great number. Red can take credit for thousands of welds that members made with his instruction. Thank you Red, you will never be forgotten. Jack and Diane Bresser
