David Penland Obituary

David Hobson Penland

Candler - David Hobson Penland, 61, went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2018.

A native & lifelong resident of Candler, David was a son of the late Glenn P. and Faye M. Penland.

David loved farm life and living off the land. His father, being a Sealtest Milkman for 45 years, influenced David's decision to work many years in the dairy industry. He appreciated good conversation and literature. David was a special and dedicated individual.

David is survived by children of his first marriage, Son-Christopher David Penland, and Daughter-Melissa Kay Penland Moffitt. He is also survived by his wife-Donna W. Penland, and Son-George Clayton Penland. David was the proud Papaw of 3 granddaughters-Aralei Penland, Michaiah, and Brianna Moffitt. Also surviving are Siblings-Gail Moody, Adrian, Glenda Faye Shook, and Philip.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 11:30am at the Penland Cemetery on Fairfield Drive in Candler.

Family & friends are invited for a meal and reminiscing following from 12-2 pm at Francis Asbury UMC Fellowship Hall (725 Asbury Road).
