Sidney Robzen, 94, formerly of Kingston, died Saturday morning, Feb. 6, 2021, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, due to COVID-19.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Ben and Celia Wolzinger Robzen and was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1945. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army, proudly serving his country during World War II as a tank communications specialist in Germany. He and his brothers co-owned Robzens' Inc. in the beef packing industry. He was a member of the Jewish Community Center, Congregation Ohav Zedek and other civic, religious and business organizations.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Esther Weiss Robzen, just one week prior to his death; brother, Leonard Robzen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Irwin Nestler; niece, Ellen Robzen Leavitt.
He is survived by son, Mark Robzen and his wife, Sheri, Kingston; daughter, Wendy Leff and her husband, Steve, Boyton Beach, Fla.; grandson, Alex Leff; son, Keith Robzen, Tuscon, Ariz.; brother, Jerry Robzen and his wife, Hannah, Kingston; sister-in-law, Florence Robzen, Kingston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rolly and Rena Roberts, Larksville; sister-in-law, Sarah Blanc, New Jersey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside funeral services were Monday in Anshe Emes Cemetery, Plains Twp., with Rabbi Dovid Kaplan and Rabbi Larry Kaplan officiating.
Arrangements are by Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, Wilkes-Barre.

I lived on Brookside Street, a block away from the “slaughter house.” As kids, when our mom would bring us with her to shop for meat, Mr Robzen or one of his sons would always give us hot dog! It wad a special treat and we ate it right there! Nice memory.
May Sidney’s memory be for a blessing.
