Roberta Jones Obituary

Roberta Walsh Jones passed away at home in the company of her husband, children and grandchildren on Monday, June 9, 2014.

Born Oct. 23, 1942, in Pittston, she attended the Pittston Area School District, and also worked for the Pittston Area School District for six years as a food service worker.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Jones; and children: son, Charles Jones Jr. and fiancée, Kathy Ann Yaniello; daughter, Doreen Stoss and fiancé, Stephen Rutledge; son, John Jones and wife, Renee Jones; and youngest son, Robert Jones and wife, Sharon Jones. She was the grandmother of 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one on the way. Also surviving are sisters, Marilyn Davis, Debbie Calvey and Maggie Zoeller, and brothers, Richard Walsh, Laurence Walsh, Robert Walsh, John Walsh and Ronald Walsh.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlene Jones Hull; sisters, Eleanor Deleo, June Shane, Margie Toler and Louise Belles; and parents, Robert and Grace Hastie Walsh.

Roberta was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very caring and loving woman and known as the rock to her entire family. She was full of life, and lit up every room she entered. Roberta will be missed dearly and remembered in our hearts forever.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until service time at 8 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
