Robert L. Doran, 53, of Alexandria Twp., N.J., passed away in Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, N.J., on Thursday, October 18, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 5, 1965, in Wilkes-Barre, Robert lived in Palo Alto, Calif., and Flanders, N.J., before moving to Alexandria Twp., N.J., in 2001.
Robert graduated from Hanover Area High School in Hanover Twp., earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, and earned a master's degree in engineering at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
In his teenage years, he worked on his uncle's diary farm in Hanover Twp. Robert worked as an electrical engineer at AT&T and Lucent Technologies in Whippany, N.J.; Astra Technologies in Bridgewater, N.J.; and was the director of engineering at XG Technologies in Hackettstown, N.J. Robert was a co-founder of Chill Enterprise LLC. He was a kind, down to earth man who was a jack of all trades and could do anything.
Robert took great interest in his children, coaching their sports teams and teaching them many things in life. He loved the Giants and the Yankees.
When things got tough, his motto was, "God provides." He was a helper of many and would always make things stable. Robert was a loving son, a great father, and a fantastic husband.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Donna Doran; his son, Joshua Doran, Alexandria Twp., N.J.; his daughters, Justine Doran and Kaitlyn Doran, Alexandria Twp., N.J.; his parents, Robert J. and Rose (Testen Doran, Hanover Twp.; his sisters, Susan Clapps and her husband, Tony, Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and Kathy Weyhenmeyer and her husband, Tim, Mountain Top; his brother, Joe Doran and his wife, Kristin, Drums; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Milford, N.J. Interment will follow in Greenwich Cemetery, Stewartsville, N.J. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Holland Twp., NJ.
