Douglas Joseph "Doug" Camilli

Douglas Joseph Camilli, 89, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away in the comfort of his home on March 17, 2026.

Doug was born in Philadelphia, PA, to Dolph Louis Camilli and Ruth Wallace Camilli. He was a resident of Vero Beach, FL, for the past 23 years, lived in Winter Haven, FL, for over 30 years, and was originally from Santa Rosa, CA. Doug served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, and attended Stanford University before signing with the LA Dodgers in 1957. He married Marilyn Mumm of Vero Beach, FL, in 1963.

Doug played Major League Baseball in the 1960s as a catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Washington Senators, and continued as a coach and manager for the Boston Red Sox farm system for many years. A highlight of Doug's baseball career includes catching Sandy Koufax's 3rd no-hitter in 1964.

Doug is survived by his wife Marilyn; children Kevin, Jeff, Mike, and Suzanne; siblings Diane and Dolph; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
