It was my great pleasure to know Bill at Sewanee. He was my first friend when we were freshmen there and roomed together our second year at Sewanee. He was kind enough to bring me home to Laurel that first Thanksgiving in 1969 and I was privileged to meet his wonderful family who were so gracious to an 18 year old a long way from home. What a kind, generous and wonderful friend he was and though we've not seen each other in decades I will always remember him as a role model to me. I am deeply sorry to hear of his passing and extend my heartfelt condolences to his daughters, siblings and many friends.

Bill was a great guy. I am glad I got to see him at Carolyn Ruth's when Stephen came down to bless us with his talent. I regret not making it to the last meeting here in Laurel. He will be well remembered by the class of '69. Prayers for family & close friends. God bless.
