Pawpaw, you are dearly missed by many and I hope you're happy in heaven with your brothers and sisters. Our family had a great Christmas and you were definitely talked about. Mawmaw is so strong it is remarkable. I am so glad you got to meet Madisyn because she is so feisty just like us, if only she could remember you. Thank you for watching over my dad with his surgery and recovery, I know you were looking down on us in that tough time. I can't wait to see you again Pawpaw and I love and miss you dearly.

Myself and My Ubcle Bear

April 21, 2013

I was elated to find and I know my Uncle Bear would not have wanted it any other way than to know that they saved the best for last in the listing of survivors for this article. I hope this brings a least a smile to whoever reads this faces because that is one thing I will always remember about my Uncle Bear are some of his wonderful funny stories, espcially when we would come back on our summer vacations (long run on sentence but who is grading, if so please feel free to depart) My mom on many occasions stated "My little brother should have been a stand up comedian because he could keep people entertained for hours". With what has gone on and currently going on in the world these days,it is hard at times to smile, but I know my Uncle Bear would want us to smile and keep marching onward. I was so glad I always stopped their home to vist him and my Aunt Margaret, no one makes a sandwich like her, that alone makes that 1000 mile trip worth it.
On the more serious side ( I use the word serious because I remember when I was about five years old, I was at their home I was wanting to join in somnething the older cousins were doing and they had run me off, ubcle Bear asked me what was wrong and I told hem the were being mean to me and he laughed and then I told him I am serious and was like oh okay, so then he got me ice cream with peanuts and when the other cousins and my sister saw me eating ice cream they stopped playing and came to get some. Uncle Bear then told them they would have to ask me if they could have some and I said NO,and then they started to argue and then Uncle Bear told them bascially that was just the way it was going to be and if they had a problem with it to take it up with him and of course no one did.
Uncle Bear was also Mr. Mom long before it became fashionable to be one. I know he really loved his children, more that I had ever seen before and he certainy did not mind pitching in doing back in that era, what was considered women's work. I loved him will miss my Uncle Bear but am glad your at home now to look after my Mom and your brother or maybe they will be looking after you. It would be interesting to know who will be ruling the roost between those three, that is one good reason why my Uncle Bubba better plan on staying with us for a long time because he will have his work cut out for him when he arrives back home.
