Patricia Brunson Obituary
Madison - Patricia Wyndham Brunson passed away at the age of 62 on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, surrounded by her three daughters.
Patricia was born on December 25, 1958, in Aliceville, Alabama, to Ellen Wyndham and Wesley Mason. Patricia attended York West End and Sumter County High School in York, Alabama, where she and her brothers were the first African American students to integrate the elementary school. She would later become a dedicated nurse, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a nurse, she transformed the lives of many and inspired numerous others to follow in her footsteps.
Patricia moved to Mississippi in 1988, where she raised her three loving daughters, Christin, Brunson Williams, Chelsea Brunson, and Claudia Brunson. She gracefully balanced the challenges of being a career woman and a loving, devoted mother. She will be remembered for her caring, compassionate, and patient nature, as well as her pretty smile and contagious laughter. Patricia dedicated her entire life to serving others, including embarking on numerous mission trips abroad and holding several leadership positions in various healthcare and service organizations. She was also a committed and active member of New Hope Baptist Church located in Jackson, Mississippi.
She is survived by her three daughters; brothers, Andrew Alexander and Bernard Alexander; sisters, Trinia Lazetta Mason and Sharon Johnson; father, Wesley Mason; stepmother, Louise Alexander; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held at Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home on July 27, 2021, from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held on July 28, 2021, at Parkway Memorial Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
