Adam Day Obituary

Adam Doss Day

Hazlehurst

Adam Doss Day was born to Lyn Doss Davis and Andrew Oliver Day on December 14, 1996. Adam, the first of two children, has a younger brother, Lee Andrew Day.

He began his life in Starkville, Mississippi followed briefly in Brandon, Mississippi before settling in his hometown of Hazlehurst at the age of four. Shortly after he and his family moved to town, he attended the daily children's program at First Baptist Church in Crystal Springs. It was there that God began to bless him with special buddies who have remained a vital part of his life while attending Copiah Academy. Throughout his childhood he has been fortunate to experience many a dusty diamond lined field, battles back and forth within the length of 100 yards, and quite a few net swishes. Needless to say his main passion throughout his youth was sports. To observe him play was really something to see. His sportsmanship, dedication and support to his team, admiration for his coaches, elation over wins, and devastation over losses was a large part of who Adam was.

There are numerous individuals who have influenced Adams life including teachers, coaches, youth ministers, parents of friends, and neighbors, just to name a few. Undeniably, the precious children he called friends meant the world to him. Each and every one of his family members adored him with a limitless love. His sense of humor, light hearted spirit and big, bright smile will remain with each of us always.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather Harwell G. Minshew; his Mimi, Judy Doss; his cousin Taylor Pratt and his uncle Clayton E. Day. He is survived by his parents and brother, as well as, his stepfather Jim Davis; grandparents Augusta Day, Ranny and Beckie Day, Paul and Martha Doss; great-grandmother Elizabeth Minshew; aunts and uncles Randy and Alexis Day, Jamie and David McDoogal, Ann Becker, Diana and Chris Odom, Kristen and Dean Fryday and Kathleen and Jeff Amsterdam, and all his beloved cousins.

Adam entered this world on December 14, 1996. He entered God's eternal kingdom on June 27, 2014 at the age of 17.

Memorial services will be 4pm Thursday at First Baptist Church, Hazlehurst.

Memorials may be made to the Adam Day Fund, Copiah Academy, P. O. Box 125, Gallman, MS, 39077.
