Terry Wells Obituary
Jackson - Terry Artist Wells, 71, passed November 29, 2020, at home in Jackson. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020, at Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home with a Private Graveside service Saturday, December 5, 2020.
Terry, son of Houston Wells Sr. and Jean Martin Wells, was born January 21, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Holy Ghost Elementary and High Schools and Tougaloo College where he was initiated into the Tougaloo Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. He joined New Mount Zion Church and was very involved with church clubs and activities for youth.
Terry began work at Pakard Electric in Clinton, MS, shortly after it opened. Having worked several positions during his tenure there, he became Safety Representative for the plant. After 37 years, Terry retired from Pakard. However, never being an idle man, he went from working pat-time to full-time at New Hope Baptist Church on Watkins Drive.
Quiet, unassuming, gentle in spirit, hard-working yet fierce in love are the qualities that best describe Terry Artis Wells. He was a loving husband, doting father, selfless grandfather, lovable son, and an affectionate brother. Terry's family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and encouragement.
