Sharon sat next to me in choir at St. Clarence and she was my 'sidekick" in our skits. She was so much fun!!! I will not forget her!

I was so blessed to have Miss Olwert as my band teacher at MHJHS (72-75). She was so passionate about not only music, but as an elite instructor to all of her students.
I have such great memories of being in symphonic and jazz bands my 3-years in middle school. Only wish there we're many more.
God Bless Miss Olwert. May she Rest In Peace.

Our children played in Sharon Olwert's Middleburg Hts Band . it was a rewarding experience for her musicians and the parents. I can still see her dancing on the podium at Night Train rendition. She was an exceptional teacher for her love of music and training children to perform on their instruments. I also remember Christmas caroling at her home in Brookpark where she lived with her mother. She got such a kick out of that. We lost track of her after she moved to Florida. I can see Sharon singing with the angels in heaven and maybe doing a little soft shoe dance. RIP, Sharon!

When Sharon joined the St. Clarence choir, she sat next to me in the alto section. She had a delightful sense of humor and so she and I had many times of laughter putting together little skits for our choir parties. She was a lovely, kind person and a heck of a musician.

Miss Olwert (as we knew her in the 70s), was a wonderful musician who adored her students. She gave 100% to help teens learn that music, good behavior, and team work can be fun, as well as helping us increase our confidence. RIP Miss Olwert, you were one of our favorites!

"Miss Olwert" had a huge impact on my life. She was the band director at Middleburg Heights Junior High when I was a student there, 1974-1977. She was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable teacher who had high expectations for all of us in the band. She knew how to appeal to awkward tweens, and she helped us make beautiful music. We loved to see her expressive directing style on the podium!
Although it's been many years since MHJHS, I still occasionally play my flute to accompany our church choir. I will think of her when I do.
Rest in peace, Miss Olwert. You were the best.

Ms. Olwert had more patience than any other teacher. She was wonderful.
