Lonnie Walcott Obituary
He was born on Nov. 20, 1951, to the late, Henry and Malvina Frazier-Walcott in Long County. Lonnie joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and afterwards worked as a civilian on the Fort Stewart Army Base and as a U.S. Postal carrier.
He was a member of New Hope AME Church in Ludowici and a member of Hour Glass Lodge #113 in Ludowici. Lonnie had a kind spirit that will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Malvina Walcott; his wife, Jessie Mae Perry-Walcott; three sisters, Dorothy Walcott-Mack, Annie Bell Jones and Darleen Walcott-Cooper; three brothers, Titus Walcott, Joseph Walcott and Thomas Walcott; and two grandchildren, Ka'Lonnie and Da'Sean.
He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Katrina Walcott, Rosena Williams, both of Ludowici, and Dana Walcott of Columbus, Ga.; a grandson who he raised, Sgt. Donte' Walcott of Camp Zama, Japan; four sisters, Ollie Mae Ferrell of Ridgeland, SC, Lucille Walcott-Miller (St. Clair) of Luwowici, DeLores W. Howell if Savannah and Dora Walcott of Ludowici; two brothers, Ronnie Walcott of Ludowici and Isaiah Maxwell, St. Louis, Mo., a god-daughter, Christina Little of Jesup; seven grandchildren, Trynina, Ja'Vonta, DaNayzha, Ra'kwon, Danilo, Jr., Ta'Maira and Jy'son; three great grandchildren, Abriella, Athena Mae and Christaun; special friends, "The Three Posse" Clifton Walker, Isaac Glover and Harrison Gibbs, all of Ludowici; and a host of nieces, nephews and other sorrowing friends and family.
A wake/visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Royal Funeral Home Chapel in Jesup.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Ludowici.
Final arrangements entrusted to Royal Funeral Home.
