Tanya Lita Chalimonczyk

Wellington - Tanya Lita Chalimonczyk, Wellington, Colo., passed away December 23, 2020 after a 9-month cancer battle. She was born in Aberdeen, S.D., January 14, 1956, graduated from Fargo South High School in 1974, and married Steven P. Olson in 1982 in Moorhead, Minn.

Her initials -TLC - said it best. Tanya treated every living thing with tender loving care. She readily shared her gourmet cooking skills, dry humor, and deep, lifesavoring laugh.

She's survived by her husband Steven Olson; mother Donna Chalimonczyk and sister Paula McGuinty, Moorhead, MN; brother Mark Chalimonczyk and sisters-in- law Julie Argall, both of Fargo, N.D.; Theresa Lundberg, West Fargo; brother-in-law Jeff Olson, Page, N.D., along with many nieces and nephews. Her father Eric passed away in January.

Tanya was Mother Nature's daughter. She hiked, camped, and photographed her beloved Colorado landscapes and was a prolific gardener. She became a Larimer County Master Gardener on the strength of her gardening skills and her art and her landscape design degrees from North Dakota State University in Fargo.

She was employed at the Loveland/Fort Collins Western Camera stores (1985- 2002), honing her artistic photographic skills. In 2002, she began work at JAX Outdoor Gear managing the photo lab and was the Lawn, Garden, and Optics buyer. Her family thanks JAX for their unwavering support, and expresses their deepest gratitude to her co-workers for donating their personal time-off to her.

An outdoor service is planned for later this year when conditions are safe, tentatively to plant a living memorial and install a permanent remembrance bench and plaque.
