Rosetta Schwartz Obituary

Rosetta May Schwartz

Fort Collins - Rosetta May Schwartz passed peacefully and quietly from this Earth on December 7, 2020 at the age of 84. Rosetta was born in Gate, Oklahoma, but spent nearly all her childhood and adult life in northern Colorado, including Johnstown and Fort Collins. She was the 13th of 14 live-born children born to Tobias and Tressia (Meier) Koch. She married Howard Wayne Schwartz on March 12, 1955. Rosetta was first and foremost a devoted mother, grandmother, homemaker, and loving wife. When her children were young, she operated a home daycare and also offered ironing services to help with the household. After her children were grown, she worked for a number of years at Homestead House in Fort Collins as an interior design assistant. Rosetta loved attending to her many beautiful roses and enjoyed gardening and flowers of all kinds. She also loved animals and was especially fond of her German Shepherds, Ginger and Shana. Rosetta was a long-time member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. In later years, she joined Faith Evangelical Church in Fort Collins. Rosetta also enjoyed music (especially piano, as she also played piano by ear), cooking holiday dinners for the family, baking goodies at Christmas, organizing the annual neighborhood summer barbeque, and spiritual reading. Rosetta is survived by her son Stanley of Highlands Ranch Colorado, along with two grandchildren, Jeffrey Schwartz and Stephanie Philo, and two great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her son Duane, and by Sisters Helen (Lena), Lily (Lil), Louise, Ella, Pauline, and by Brothers Walter, Fred (Fritz), Paul, Carl, LeRoy, Ralph, Clarence, and Albert. The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Society - Fort Collins Village, the staff at Home Instead, and Pathways Hospice for their kindness, care, and compassion. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Stroke Association, the Dementia Society of America, or the Good Samaritan Society, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service Fort Collins. A visitation for Rosetta will be held on December 13, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at Allnutt Funeral Service - Ft. Collins, Colorado. Graveside Service will be held on December 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery - Fort Collins. The family is planning a separate celebration of life and family reunion in 2021.
