Gail J Gossett Williams, 65 of Memphis, Tennessee died on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee. Born Thursday, January 8, 1953 in Memphis, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late George Gossett and Garrie Lee Lewis Gossett. She was the wife of Reginald Williams.

Surviving are son, Lorenzo D Brooks, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; two grandchildren, Sophia Brooks and Madyson Williams; three sisters, Marva Bell, Garrie Lynne Gossett and Angela Hughes (god-sister) one brother Jesse Gossett (Sally).

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. on Monday, September 10, at St John Baptist Church, 640 Vance Ave, Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at St John Baptist Church located at 640 Vance Ave Memphis, Tennessee 38126. Interment will be in McCulley Cemetery, Somerville, TN.

I just learned of Dr. GOSSETT passing 3 years later . She was the best pediatrician in Memphis all my children were in her care .I was going to make an appointment for my new twin boys wow so sad R.I.P .She definitely is missed .

I know this is almost 2 years later, my heart is so heavy.
Dr Gossett was all 3 of my childrens pediatrician from my oldest who is now 21 to the youngest who is 14.
She was By far one of the most caring and thorough physicians Ive ever encountered.
My children loved and respected Dr Gossett and listened to her advice on being healthy. Rest on sweet angel, thank you so much for always taking awesome care of our family.

My heart is sadden to hear the news about Dr. Gail Gossett. She is the best pediatrician Memphis had. I say this and offer the facts to prove it.
1. She loved her patients, the children and their parents.
2. She was very caring and would examine her patients carefully and fully and if there was any doubt should would always get additional exams and tests.
3. She would spend more than the normal 15 minutes with you to answer any questions or concerns we as parents had.
4. She was able to diagnose an illness of scoliosis in my daughter by having her bend at the waist. She immediately sent her to a specialist for verification of the test which were positive. We were able to see the specialist early and by prayer and faith the condition got better and no surgery was required.
5. Dr. Gossett always asked about my son (who was her patient as a child, he was 22 at this time) whenever I took my daughter to her annual or illness appointments. At one appointment, Dr Gossett asked about my son and I shared with her that my son had Cancer and was receiving Chemotherapy treatments. She did something that I have never seen a doctor do. She stopped and asked if she could pray for him with us. Dr. Gossett, my daughter and I held hands while Dr. Gossett prayed a prayer of healing. Through tears in my eyes I thanked her for the prayer. All the time I was thinking WOW Dr. Gossett, a doctor who believes in the prayer of healing as well as medical science.
There are so many more facts that could be shared about Dr. Gossett but anyone who knows her already know them.

Thank you again for everything you did in caring for my babies.

God picked a flower out of his garden to come and help him care for all those little baby angels in heaven.

We love you and you will be missed.

Dr. Gail Gossett (Williams) will be greatly missed my son and daughter used to go to her loved her because she loved her children all of them that she seen if something didn't seem right she didn't hesitate to send them to get other opinion to make sure everything was alright , the last time I seen Dr. Gossett I started laughing because she still remember me bringing my children in and now I was bringing my grandson in I said Dr. Gossett you still working loving on these children she said yes ma'am till I can't nomore I loved her so much for her caring about her patients when I told my son he took it so hard because she died on his birthday and it hurt him so bad he still loved Dr. Gossett to this day.....Our good and faithful servant take your place and rest........to her family my prayers are for your strength each and everyday that you wake up to see.....know that she was definitely a "GEM"

Dr Gossett was caring and soft spoken. My three kids love to go to see her until they became to old. She also, cared for two of my grand kids until she took I'll. We loved her you will be miss. My prays go out to the family.

The very best of the best. It was a comfort to have her as my children doctor. My son was 13, and she nicely with a smile, told me I probably need to change his doctor to a male. My son looked at me like, did she really have to tell you that? She was just so good with children I just did not want anyone else. I'm sure she will be sorely missed. Job well done, thy good and faithful servant.

My heart is grieved after learning about the passing of Dr. Gossett. I met her in 1987 my son was three months old, later my 2nd child was born in 1990. She cared for my children all of their young lives. When my son was 13 months old she examined him and felt something hard in his back, she sent him for an Xray, test came back negative. She wasn't satisfied, she set up an ultrasound, results were negative. She still wasn't satisfied. She referred him to a specialist. We learned that he had a kidney blockage, he needed surgery. Of course I cried and she comforted me. The surgery was a success. About eight years later she started feeling something new. She sent him to a specialist, he said he'll be fine in about another year or so. Well she wasn't satisfied after a year she sent him back. The doctor said he needed testicles surgery. After the surgery I asked her if that would have prevented him from having children she said yes ma'am. Well my son is 31 years old with two sons of his own ages 8 and 9. I saw her about two years ago with my grandson. I am so thankful that she touched my life and blessed my generation. I thank God for Him sharing her with us. I pray that she have an awesome home going service to meet our King and Father. Servant well done take your rest, you're been faithful and I thank you Dr. Gail Gossett. Blessings to your son and family.

Dr. Gossett has been taking care of my children and my grandchildren for the past 25 years. My children went to the office when they was on Cleveland near Madison. This lady was great at her profession and she cared about her patients. She would call when blood work or something came back unacceptable. Dr. Gossett will truly be missed in the Memphis Pediatric World. God Bless her Family

Dr. Gossett(Williams) has been our family pediatrician for 22 years. She was full of life, love, joy and passion. She was very adamant about the care of her patients and has called in between visits just to check up on them. Dr. Gosstt(Williams) will be so greatly missed! Our condolences to the family.
