Dr. Robert P. Tate, 70, of Nesbit, MS, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pressly B. Tate, Jr. and Doris C. Tate. Dr. Tate is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Karen Tate; son, Erik St. John and his wife Brianne, two of the cutest grandchildren, Langston and Mason St. John; a brother, Don Tate and his wife, Helen of Vonore, TN and a nephew, Brian Tate. Dr. Tate was a member at Buntyn Presbyterian Church. He practiced medicine for 42 years in Holly Springs, MS and then in Olive Branch, MS. The family invites friends and relatives for a time of sharing memories of Dr. Tate on Friday, February 23rd from five o'clock in the afternoon until seven o'clock in the evening at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 24th at ten o'clock in the morning at Buntyn Presbyterian Church, 561 S. Prescott Street in Memphis. The burial will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.

I didn't know Bobby that well, but from what my mother mentioned in a few words, "Bobby always had a smile." So, Bobby, please smile on. You will be missed by so many.

Dr. Tate was our family physician for 25 years while in Olive Branch Ms. He loved his patients and we loved him.
He was compassionate yet aggressive in caring for our family. It wasn't unusual to expect a shot and prescription while sick. He stuck to his guns and to his patients. So sad to hear of his passing.

Dr. Tate practiced in Holly Springs for a very long time and was such a great physician, very kind hearted and a great friend. Prayers for the family. He will be missed by many!
