William Scheibe Obituary

William "Bill" Galloway Scheibe, Jr. passed away in his sleep at the age of 64 on the 18th of December, 2008. He was born in Dallas, TX on May 1st to his late parents Grace and Bill. In 1964, while he was serving in the Air Force he met Karen Williamson and they married. After moving back to Texas, he studied agronomy at East Texas State and Texas A&M, and played golf. He became a PGA professional and then a teaching pro at Twin Hills Country Club in Oklahoma City. His love for golf was something that he desired to pass on to his sons, playing in the Tennessee Father/Son State Championship for over 25 years. He had also turned to other ventures. He started and owned a plant nursery, Chapel Hill Nursery in Texas. Later, he became involved in the auto parts industry, which took him to Tennessee, where he eventually helped start a successful business PSKB, Inc. in 1983. While running a business, he became interested again in owning land and starting a cattle and hay farm in Fayette County, TN in 1985. He became a respected land owner and in his last years, served on the Fayette County Industrial Development Board. He had always desired to be closer to the rural life, eventually building a home out in Whiteville. He would enjoy spending days after work mowing the fields and bailing the hay. After his retirement from PSKB, Inc, he became involved in the business venture Nature's Broom and was nominated as the President. He was also involved with many church plants, and became an elder at Christ Presbyterian Church in Somerville. He leaves behind his wife Karen, and his four children Tres (Dede), Gretchen (Johnny), Clarke (Julia), and Marc (Liz), and soon to be ten grandchildren. The family asks any memorials in honor of Bill Scheibe be sent to Christ Presbyterian Church (7062 Hwy 64 Box 223 Oakland, TN). Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2008, at Independent Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m., Visitation will be held on Sunday December 22, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
