Pauline Feuerstein Obituary

FRANKLIN – Pauline (Kropp) Feuerstein, 87, a resident of Franklin since 1933, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at her home after a brief illness. Born in Tilton, May 2, 1927, she was the daughter of Joseph and Rosie (Chenov) Kropp. Pauline was a graduate of Franklin High School, class of 1945. She attended Highland Manor in Long Branch, N.J. and later graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1949.

Pauline was active in the Franklin community and was a member of the Ionic Ragged Mountain Order of the Eastern Star, the Franklin Historical Society, the Franklin Opera House Board, the University of New Hampshire Alumni Association, the New Hampshire Retired Educators Association, and the Lakes Region Retired Educators Association. For many years Pauline served as a Supervisor of the Checklist for the City of Franklin.

She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and toured much of the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Most important in Pauline's life was family and friends. Pauline was always the life of the party and will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Twin Rivers Red Hat Society, the Dazzling Divas Red Hat Society, the Serendipity Singers, and played cards daily with friends at the Franklin McDonalds.

Pauline was a member of Temple Beth Jacob in Concord. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, former Franklin Mayor and long time State Representative, Martin Feuerstein, in 2002; a granddaughter, Jillian Allsup, in 2003; and her daughter, Jocelyn Allsup, in 2013.

Her family includes her daughter, Starette Feuerstein - Duffy and her husband, Jack Duffy of Denver; her son, Abra N. Feuerstein and his wife, Sue Ellen Feuerstein and their children, Jacob, Ruby, and Benjamin of Lewisburg, Pa.; her son-in-law, Michael Allsup and his son, Nathan Allsup of Florida; nieces, nephews, and her former classmate and longtime companion, James Auger of Sanbornton.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Jan. 18, beginning at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road (584 West Main St.) in Tilton.

Burial will follow in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery in Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Franklin VNA and Hospice, 75 Chestnut St., Franklin, NH 03235 (www.VNAFNH.org).

Mrs. Feuerstein was such a nice lady. She often was a substitue at FHS when I was in Jr. High & High School. My deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and all who loved her.

Dear Starette and Abe,

I send my deepest sympathy for your huge loss. Your mother was absolutely wonderful and had such a vibrant life. She was especially there for all her children no matter what the circumstances. I feel she has more than earned her place in heaven where she'll be blissfully spending eternity with her beloved Martin, Jocie and Jillian. However, as I know all too well, such comforting thoughts do nothing to heal the pain of your loss. For that I am so very sorry. God bless you with strength and good health as you learn to live with your new normal.

Love always,

Anita

Dear Starette & Abra,

I was so deeply saddened to hear of your wonderful mother's passing from my Aunt Jean. Aunt Jean and my sister Marsha both said that your mother had a long and very good life, and indeed she did.
She had boundless energy and enthusiasm, she was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend to so many who loved and admired her.
I will never forget her kindness to me, and I really looked forward to seeing her on my visits to Franklin.
I know she was welcomed into the arms of your father and her beloved Jocie and Jillian in Heaven.
When you look up into the night sky, look for the brightest stars, and one of them will be your mother, shining brightly in that sky, just as she did here on earth, watching over you and protecting you with total, unconditional love.
My thoughts and my prayers are with you and with all of your family at this very sad time.
Bravo Polly to a life well lived. You will never be forgotten.

Starette and Abra
You have had a tough couple of weeks; once this pain is over, you will be left with the good memories and what hot stuff Polly was. Thinking of you...
