Susan Borman Obituary

Susan Tranka Borman Aug. 14, 1956 ~ Sept. 21, 2009 Resident of Danville Susan passed away at San Ramon Regional Medical Center peacefully on September 21, 2009. Born in New York, New York, August 14, 1956 to Paul and Peggy Tranka, Susan was an excellent student, graduating from UC Davis in 1978. In 1982 she married Larry Borman and found her real passion in life: her children, Lindsay and Curtis Borman. After spending most of her life in Danville, California, Susan and her family moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. During Susan's time in Jakarta she made an impact on the community by serving in the American Woman Association, Kampung Kids and the Jakarta International School Booster Hut. She found joy in cooking and in flowers and loved the water. Susan loved to laugh, and will be remembered for her infectious smile. Susan is survived by her husband, Larry, her children Lindsay and Curtis, her step-son Jeff; her brother David Tranka; her Aunt Mitzi and her husband Roger Butler; her Uncle Leo Tranka; and her cousins, Randy, Lisa and Steven. A private service was held at Saint Joan of Arc on Friday, September 25, attended by her family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kampung Kids foundation at Kampungkids.org. Wilson & Kratzer (925) 820-2999

Living in Illinois, I didn't get to see Susan much but enjoyed our visits. She was a lovely person. My heart-felt sympathy to Larry, Curtis and Lindsay. Your Illinois cousin, Eileen.

I was so sorry to read of the death of Sue. We have been on a trip to South Africa and just returned. I have known Sue for a long time through our Kappa Alumnae bridge group. We played together just last month. We attended ball games together and I always loved her laugh and sense of humor. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
