Donald has been a friend to me for the last twenty-five years and I to him. He once said, "It is just another challenge" and that has helped me so much in my own life. His legacy and that of the area from its early years continues through his efforts and love of the land and history. It was a privilege to help him and to know him.

I to had the priviledge of meeting this wonderfuly interesting, stubborn yet soft-hearted man. He was one of a kind for sure, and I will never forget our visits with Charlie, the chickens, peacocks and Mr Turkey. He made my job worth doing and I am saddened I won't have more time with him. I will miss him dearly.

I had the pleasure of meeting Donald two years ago (November 2008) with my cousin Verna (Cakebread) Kruse and had a great tour of the home my grandmother Nell (Williamson) Lynch lived. I am saddened to learn of Donald's passing but he now rests in a better place.
