Louis Longmire Calfee of Conroe, Texas went to be with the Lord surrounded by family on November 4, 2018 at the age of 88. Although given family names at birth, he was always known to family and friends as 'Tink'. He was born, the youngest of four siblings, on January 23, 1930 in Willis, Texas the son of the late Robert Lewis and 'Eva' Longmire Calfee.
Tink served in the U.S. Army during 1951. On the death of his father, he returned to Conroe, where he worked for the Conroe Telephone Company for 32 years. There he met his future wife, and they were married October 2, 1952. In 1981 he went to work for Gulf States Utilities in Beaumont, but his heart was always in Montgomery County.
He claimed to have retired in 1992, but he continued to work just as hard taking care of cows, grandchildren and family. He also spent his time serving as a deacon at the Longmire Church of Christ.
Mr. Calfee is survived by his loving wife, three children, six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. at the Longmire Road Church of Christ, 200 Longmire Road, Conroe, Texas 77304, across from the Conroe High School Baseball Field.

We were so very saddened to hear the news of Tink's passing. There's so many fond memories we have when he and the Calfee boys came out to help us work cows. Special times back then. Our prayers go out to the Calfee family in this great loss.

May our Father hold all of the Calfee family close as you bid Tink farewell. We have such fond memories of loving and being loved by your family. To get a phone call from Tink and hear his jovial voice would make our day. He will be missed.
