Mark Norris Obituary

Age 46 of Pilesgrove NJ passed away suddenly on Monday February 12 2007 in Philadelphia. Mark was born in Jamaica NY on November 4 1960 to Carl E. and Eleanor B. (VanDunk) Norris. A respected
business man and philanthropist Mark was President and CEO of Zigzag.Net Inc. which holds the distinction of being the highest ranked minority-owned firm in it's industry.
Mark was awarded the Philadelphia Business Journal's '40 under 40'. Early in his career he received the Congressional appointment to the Merchant Marine Academy in Kingspoint Long Island and later served in the US Marine Corp. Mark served as Chairman of the Board of Watson International. He was a board member of the Juvenile Justice Center and the Hope Charter School both located in Philadelphia. He is a featured award-winning artist and a nationally published poet. Mark was currently working on writing and illustrating a children's book.
Mark is predeceased by his brother Robert E. 'Bobby' Norris. Along with his parents Carl and Eleanor Norris he is survived by his companion Douglas J. Park of Pilesgrove NJ; 2 brothers Carl E. Norris of Endicott NY Paul G. Norris and wife Kimberly of Newark DE; 7 nieces and nephews Gionna Norris Mark's Goddaughter Carl Norris Theo Norris Mariah Norris Casey Norris Tyler Norris and Brie Norris. Also survived by a host of family and friends. Mark's dog Pepe also survives him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation in celebration of Mark's life from 11am to 1pm. Saturday February 17 2007 at Cornerstone UMC 3135 Summit Bridge Road Bear DE 19701. A memorial service will begin at 1pm Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mark's name may be sent to Juvenile Justice Center of Philadelphia 100 W. Coulter Street Philadelphia PA 19144.
