Katalin Horvath Obituary

HORVATH Katalin Horvath, age 77, of Milford, wife of the late Zoltan Horvath, passed away peacefully knowing the love and support of her family. Born in Csykanydoroslo, Hungary, Kathy came to the United States in 1956 and had been a Milford Town resident for most of her life. She had worked for the Bic Corporation of Milford for many years but was best known as the founder and owner of the Kossuth Club Restaurant of Bridgeport, where for over 30 years she served her many Hungarian specialties. A longtime member of St. Emery's Church of Fairfield, Mrs. Horvath had served as a Church Trustee, member of the Church Financial Committee as well as a willing volunteer for many Church dinners and picnics. She was also an active member of the Bic Co. retirees. Kathy was very proud of her Hungarian heritage; she enjoyed playing bingo, needlework, gardening, and especially cooking for family and friends. Kathy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughter Monika Mason and her husband Charlie; her son, Sandor Horvath; and her daughter, Katalin Somers, hergrandchildren, Elizabeth Horvath, Christina Horvath and her companion Anthony Berrios, Emily Kennedy and her husband Leif, Victoria Cascarelli and her husband Jeffrey, Adam Horvath, and Steven Horvath, and her great-grandchildren, Anthony, Abel, Daniel and Toni Marie. She was predeceased by her brother Jeno Fulop. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday directly at St. Emery Church, 838 King's Highway East, Fairfield. Interment will follow at Milford Cemetery, Kings Highway, Milford. Memorial donations maybe directed to a charity of ones choice. The Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, have been entrusted with the arrangements. To sign an online register book and for directions, please visit www.leskopolkefuneralhome.com.

Our deepest sympathies to Katalins family, she was a wonderful lady who will no doubt be missed be many. I remember her from the old days at the Kossuth Club, and more recently as our neighbor here in Milford. She would always attend the Bingo at St. Gabriel's where my wife got an opportunity to get to know her as well. My being Hungarian as well as belonging to St. Emery's (when I lived in Fairfield) gave us the opportunity to reminisce, I also will miss her excellent cooking as I am sure many others will as well. She was the glue that held the hunkies together. Isten veled Katalin, we were better for having known you. We apologize for missing her service as we just found out of her untimely passing.

To the whole Horvath family....we extend our deepest condolences. Kathy was like a mother to me. She was one of the most nicest thoughtful and caring people I've ever met in my life. I know there won't be a day that goes by that I won't think of her. Our Lord had a special place reserved for her in heaven....and she is there now...without pain....without worry....God bless her soul and may she rest in peace. Love you Mama Kathy!!!!!!!!
