Thomas Carroll Obituary

Thomas G. Carroll
Thomas G. Carroll "Tommy Liverpool", entered into eternal rest at the age of 77 on Thursday November 15, 2018, surrounded with love and laughter by his family. Tommy was born on June 9, 1941 to his loving parents Thomas and Agnes Carroll, in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales England. He was the youngest boy of four siblings. He loved and appreciated his British heritage, Liverpool England up bringing, and the eventful, but beautiful life he built here in America. Anyone who knew him knew he was quick to share a story with you about all of the great things he did and experienced in his life. He was married to his childhood sweetheart Olive "Olly" for 58 years. Although he used to tell everyone "I only married her because she needed a date for the wedding" we knew they were best friends. He was an avid lover of his favorite soccer teams Everton and Liverpool, even more while he "fancied" an ice cream cone while sitting in his assigned seat on the sofa to watch a game. Boy did he truly enjoy a good cowboy movie. He was probably a cowboy in his other life because he could kill any bad guy who entered the house with a quickness by using the remote control as his gun. He always answered the telephone "salvation army", sang little songs as he paced around the house biting his nails, and quietly snuck into the bedroom to say "Ol do you want some tea?" He will be greatly missed by everyone who was part of his life. People will always remember him by his quick wit, dry jokes, and contagious uncontrollable laughter. If you knew him, you knew he had the ability to laugh the hardest until his sides hurt at his own jokes and stories. His kind and compassionate personality will be missed by all who knew him. He was quick to embrace people to crack a joke in any situation or to invite you to pull up a bar stool next to him and just make a friend. You'd find him in his favorite spot "the bar", where he became not just a visitor but part of their family. His friends at the bar loved and admired him so much they'd buy him a beer, and he'd bring home his free beer tokens that he made sure you knew he had every time he saw you! He loved to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren. He'd always be quick to "get a shower and a shave, and clean his teeth" even if it meant he was just tagging along on the car ride. He couldn't start his day without reading the newspaper cover to cover, making sure he checked his lottery and power ball numbers, because that one time he almost hit it but was off by one number, and walking to the mailbox to check the mail. He loved his life, his memories, his family, friends and his hobbies very much. He lived his life for them each and every day. So scouse, we're not saying goodbye, we're saying "Good night and God Bless". In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves six children, Thomas Carroll and wife Maureen, Tracy Carroll, Sandra Carroll, Debra Nunley and husband Michael, John Carroll and Steve Carroll, two sisters, Bernadette Sardo and Margaret Carroll, fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Albert. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call Monday (Today) from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers and gifts the family has asked that all donations be made to an organization that is very dear to Thomas's heart. In honor of his two prematurely born great grandsons Ronaldo Matteo and Juliyan Noah, and his surviving first great granddaughter Mikayla Faith. All donations can be made directly to the Bridgeport Hospital Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
