Anderson Funeral Home - NephiLinda Kay Carroll, age 72, passed away on March 24, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on May 6, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the youngest of five children born to Clarence John and Beth Marie Thompson Carroll.
Linda grew up in Bountiful, Utah, and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1971. She was a lifelong resident of Bountiful, apart from a few short years spent in Centerville, Utah.
She enjoyed a long and dedicated career with the “phone company,” beginning at Mountain Bell and continuing through its many changes, eventually retiring from CenturyLink. Linda also spent many years working with close friends at Lone Eagle Expeditions, a whitewater rafting company in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, commuting every weekend throughout the summer. After retiring from the phone company, she continued to work for several years at Professional Answering Service in Bountiful before fully retiring.
Though never married, Linda was, in many ways, the leader of her family. She loved her family deeply and was known for her generosity, often sharing what she had and putting others before herself. Her example of dedication and love will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
Linda had a lifelong love of animals and usually had at least one dog by her side. Wherever Linda went, her faithful companion went too. She also loved the outdoors and had a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings—Stephen, Diann, Doug, and Marsha—and her sister-in-law, Kay Carroll. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Ron Olsen; her special nephews Jason and Marc Hatch for whom she was like a second mother as well as many other nephews and nieces; numerous cousins; and her dear friend, Ken.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 S. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, followed by a graveside service at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W., Bountiful, Utah at 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help cover funeral costs and a headstone would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made by contacting Anderson Funeral Home at 435 623 0153.
