Hermanson, Frances K.
Frances K. Hermanson, having recently celebrated her 90th birthday, beloved wife of 58 years to the late Andrew Hermanson passed away peacefully on Sunday July 12, 2015 with her devoted family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Anna Dest Komornik. A lifelong resident, she was a retired administrative assistant for the State of Connecticut, D.D.S. A devout parishioner, founding member and Eucharistic minister of St. Andrew Church. A great cook who was known for her Irish and Zucchini Breads which she served and shared with everyone. It was well known that no one ever went hungry at Grandma Frans. An active individual who enjoyed shopping and bowling. Frances was known for her kindness by many who considered her their adopted grandmother and mom. A special note of gratitude to Joycelyn, Pat, Dorothy and wonderful neighbors Judy and Sarah for their support and compassion shown to Frances. Survivors include her children, Beverly Bennett Schaedler and husband David of Newtown, Perry Hermanson and wife Cathy of Trumbull, John Hermanson and wife JoAnn of East Haven, her adoring grandchildren, Russell Bennett of NC, Sarah Bennett of Danbury, Sherry Quintana of Stratford, Kristen Hermanson of Trumbull, John Jay Hermanson Jr. of Glenburn ME, great-grandchildren Robert Bennett of NC, Gianna Quintana of Stratford, brothers Henry and Joseph Komornik, sister Stephanie Tomasko, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Anne Sebastine, Mary Gernat, Rose, Chris, John and Michael Komornik.
Friends are invited to go directly to St. Andrew's Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport on Thursday, July 16, 2015 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. followed by interment in Mt. Grove of Easton Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8om in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport.
