ANTHONY MISITANO Obituary
He was born Aug. 5, 1952, in Melrose Park, the son of Anthony and Elaine (Strutz) Misitano.
Tony graduated in 1970 from West Chicago High School. He married Tena Valine on Sept. 6, 1986.
Tony worked for Earth Construction for 28 years. He was active in sports, coaching baseball and he played and umpired semi-pro football for the River Grove Cowboys. Tony liked to golf and was an avid Bears, Cubs and White Sox fan. Tony and Tena's house was the hang out spot for their children's friends and many of them thought of him as a second father and called him "Dad." Absent in body and present with the Lord, Tony will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Tena Misitano of Sycamore; mother, Elaine Ostrick of Cortland; 10 children, Vicki Steger of Richton Park, April (David) Lockwood of St. Charles, Robert (Jeannette) Misitano of Cortland, Carrie (Kevin) Sansing of Tennessee, Christina Ruiz of San Diego, Calif., David Ruiz of Sycamore, Andrea (Shawn) Maturo of Kentucky, Nicholas Misitano of Elgin, Jessica Misitano of Sycamore and Anthony Misitano III of Sycamore; 21 grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas A. Misitano of Cortland and John (Jill) Misitano of Sycamore.
He was preceded in death by his father, and by his stepfather, George Ostrick.
The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Chapel, 1245 Somonauk St., Sycamore, with Pastor Mike Hall officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday before the funeral service.

Goodbye my friend, my buddy, my pal. You left behind a pretty gal, but don't you worry none my friend we'll all be together in the end. It's hard to write this while I cry, when all the birds are singing in the sky. Life is short and life is long, I never thought that you'd be gone. You got out cheap you lucky dog, but, you left us in a fog. To all my loved ones, family and friends, I'll love you all till the end, and maybe are hearts will mend.

Tony we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to you and tena and the rest of your family. tony was our friend and we truly miss him. we really enjoyed him making us laugh and feeling the love he shared with your family. tony so loved his children that he never spoke to us without mentioning them and would always give us the lil tony report on how you were doing in school and in sports. tony taught us so much, especially how to order at an italian restaurant lol we really feel sorry for those who never met him, he truly was the only person we ever met that we couldnt wait to see or talk to again. so much love and laughter he brought us, we will miss him dearly and remember the lessons of love and family that he taught us, you were blessed to have as your father and we were blessed to have him as our friend, we truly love and miss him dearly, god bless the family and to tony...salud!!.Geoffrey and Mary Ervin

Tena, I cannot put into words what Tony meant to me as well as all of his Children and Grandchildren, I only pray that he will watch over all of us, keep us on the safest path in life, and pass on all of his great qualities to his Grandchildren through his spirit. May he also pass onto you his strengths, and help you to continue to be the strong Mother and Grandmother that you are.
